Joe Catholic is an original comic created by Fr. Christopher J. Decker and published by Collarmark Productions. Everything on this site — the artwork, characters, stories, designs, and site itself — is protected intellectual property. This page explains what that means for you.
1. Ownership
All content on this website, including but not limited to comic strips, character designs, story elements, scripts, illustrations, logos, and site design, is the exclusive property of:

Joe Catholic is part of the broader Joe Catholic Universe, a shared fictional world created by Fr. Decker. All characters, locations, and related indicia within that universe are similarly protected.
2. Trademark
Joe Catholic, Collarmark Productions, and associated character names and likenesses are the intellectual property of Fr. Christopher J. Decker. Use of these marks without prior written permission — in any commercial, promotional, or public context — is prohibited.
3. What You’re Welcome to Do
The following activities are permitted without needing to ask:
- Share links to individual comic pages or this site on social media, blogs, podcasts, or in conversation — with credit to Joe Catholic and joecatholic.com.
- Personal saving or printing of individual strips for your own private, non-commercial use.
- Non-commercial fan art clearly identified as fan-made, featuring attribution to the original. Fan art may not be sold or used to generate revenue.
- Educational use of limited excerpts in a classroom or academic context, consistent with fair use principles.
4. What Requires Permission
The following require prior written authorization from Collarmark Productions:
- Reproducing, republishing, or redistributing comic strips or artwork in any format — print, digital, or broadcast
- Creating merchandise, products, or any item for sale featuring Joe Catholic characters or artwork
- Creating derivative works, adaptations, sequels, or spinoffs
- Using artwork or characters in advertising, promotion, or fundraising
- Bulk downloading or mirroring of this site’s content
5. AI Training Restriction
Use of any content from this website — including images, text, character designs, and story material — for the purpose of training, fine-tuning, or evaluating artificial intelligence or machine learning systems is expressly prohibited without prior written consent from Collarmark Productions. This applies to all AI systems regardless of the intended use or commercial status of the resulting model.
